My live radio interview at DZIQ Radyo Inquirer

A few weeks ago, I was in Manila to meet up with social media as well as political publicity clients. It was a rather brief stay in Manila but one of the highlights of my trip was a live radio interview at DZIQ 990 AM Radyo Inquirer. DZIQ Radyo Inquirer is a flagship AM radio station owned by Trans-Radio Broadcasting Corp., Inc. and operated by the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

My live radio guesting was made possible by a good friend, Miss Noemi of BlogWatch, who was one of the anchors of the program I was set to be a guest in. You may know Miss Noemi as @momblogger on Twitter. She’s also the writer behind one of the blogs I regularly read, About My Recovery, which started out as a “grief blog” about her deceased son Luijoe. Now, Miss Noemi is a passionate advocate of the Reproductive Health Bill, the editor of a citizen media site and an influential blogger especially on matters concerning family and society.

Anyways, the title of the program was “Ratsada Inquirer” and her fellow anchors were Ricky Rivera and Den Macaranas. I was not the only guest, by the way. There were representatives from a well-known corporation as well as Ros a.k.a. @juanxi on Twitter. Ros was invited to talk about Social Media Day and I was invited to talk about how I initiated my very humble Typhoon Sendong (international name: Washi) relief operations and donation drives and how social media truly played a huge role in all of it. If you follow @mindanaoan on Twitter, you most likely noticed my deluge of tweets after Sendong asking for help and information, coordinating volunteers, thanking generous donors, sharing updates and photos etc.

I must emphasize, however, that the relief operations and donation drives would not have been so successful if not for the Lord (for His guidance, blessings and mercy), my family, friends (real and online!) and even strangers who just really wanted to help. To all of you (you know who you are 🙂 ), daghan gyung salamat!

Here are just a few photos I took during my live radio guesting at DZIQ Radyo Inquirer 990 AM:

Thanks Miss Noemi! It was truly a great experience 🙂
