Relaxing stay at Sunway Pyramid Tower Hotel Kuala Lumpur Malaysia @Sunway_Pyramid

During my most recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I spoke about “Viral Magic” during the Malaysia Social Media Week 2014, I had the pleasure of staying at Sunway Pyramid Tower Hotel, much thanks to the MSMW 2014 organizers and sponsors. I stayed at this Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia hotel for 4 days and it provided the perfect respite from work and hectic days.

Located at Persiaran Lagoon, Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Sunway Pyramid Tower Hotel KL is adjoined to Sunway Shopping Mall. It is also within the same complex where Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa, Sunway Lagoon Waterpark and Surf Beach (the world’s largest man-made surf beach and the first in Malaysia to offer the Surf Simulator Flow Rider) and Sunway University are.

My carpeted room, which was on the 6th floor, had a king sized bed, bedside control panel, cabinets, ref, a work area, flat screen TV with cable, coffee and tea making facilities and a clean, spacious washroom with tub. Toiletries were provided including hotel slippers. Two bottles of drinking water (complimentary) were also placed on the bedside table and hotel staff replenished them every morning.

And yes, there’s free WiFi Internet! (A bit spotty, unfortunately. Plus there’s no password – which worried some of my fellow speakers especially the techie ones)

There were vending machines and ironing rooms along my floor (not sure if each floor had them). For MYR 2 (around 26 Philippine pesos), you can buy canned sodas from the vending machine. I tried the Chrysanthemum Tea canned drink. It was refreshing and just what I needed while I watched a little TV before heading to beddy-bye.

Breakfast buffet was served at the Atrium Cafe, just a few steps away from the reception desk/lobby. The buffet was well-stocked and offered a good variety of Chinese, Malaysian and Western food. Staff was courteous, attentive and helpful. Thumbs up!

After my breakfast the first day, I took these photos of the Sunway Waterpark. There’s a pathway from the Atrium Cafe leading towards Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa. You can see this:

The surf beach / waterpark really looked tempting. Maybe next time.

  • Nice hotel! When we were there, we stayed at this hotel near the bus place.. and i can’t remember what it’s called @_@ . but anyway, if we visit again I’d recommend it to my ‘rents. I love Malaysia. I feel very patriotic there because they love Jericho Rosales and filipino sitcoms. It makes me proud :))
