The thing about trying beauty products for the first time is that you really don't know for sure if they're good for your skin or not. Sometimes, relying on product descriptions may not be enough and may even be risky. Also, even if others give positive feedback about a product, you really can't be sure if you will have the same experience. This year 2012 has been a year of many firsts for this Mindanao blogger. For the very first time, I was sent to the USA by the US Embassy in Manila for a really special leadership program. I was also given the chance to accompany US Ambassador to the Philippines Harry Thomas when he visited Mindanao last July. And on a less formal (but still very exciting) opportunity, I met a1, Blue and Jeff Timmons. I also have a new sport this year - boxing! Yup! I have itchy feet. That means I love to travel. I find traveling exhilarating. There’s something about traveling that excites me. And one of the very beautiful and mysterious places that I hope I can visit someday is Fiji. Fiji is an island nation in Melanesia in the South Pacific Ocean about 1,100 nautical miles (2,000 km; 1,300 mi) northeast of New Zealand's North Island. Fiji’s closest neighbors include Vanuatu (a little detour - I once had a client based in Vanuatu and he said that his decision to move there for good was the best decision he has ever made!), New Caledonia, Kermadec, Tonga and Tuvalu. Mindanaoan In America: The River Inn Washington DC USA hotel

My fellow IVLP 2012 delegates and I were billeted at The River Inn during the Washington D.C. leg of our 3-week stay in America. The River Inn is a downtown Washington DC hotel that's located just 2 blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro station. This affordable Washington DC inn is also within walking distance from Georgetown a.k.a. the historic commercial and entertainment district in northwest Washington. Georgetown is also where you can find (quite obviously) Georgetown University and yes, the original branch of Georgetown Cupcakes, the shop that gave birth to the hit reality TV show "DC Cupcakes." It's official, folks! :) I have been chosen by the U.S. Department of State to visit the United States of America as a participant in the International Visitor Leadership Program or IVLP. I will leave for the U.S. on March 3, 2012 and will stay there until the first week of April 2012 :) Actually, the program that I will be a part of will only run for 3 weeks but I plan to stay a bit more to savor the sights and sounds of the USA. During the 3-week program, I will visit Washington, Orlando Florida, Salt Lake City Utah and Portland Oregon. Back on Blackberry and trying out Globe BBMax

So I'm finally using a Blackberry phone again. I actually used to have one in 2010 - back when only a few owned Blackberry units and when I only had two BBM buddies! (Yup, that was pretty sad and lonely) That Blackberry unit served me really well. I used it mainly for business but something unfortunate happened and I lost that phone. The short story - a thief attacked our then Cebu City apartment. I was all alone, sleeping soundly in one room. My brother arrived home, panicked, thought I was dead. Authorities believed the thief was a youngster. After bouts of anger and sadness, I went to a Globe Business Center to check if I could still retain my phone number (I used a prepaid sim).
