Expect a lot of people to flock to Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao on January 29 and 30, 2010.

The regional auditions for the reality talent search, “Pilipinas Got Talent,” will be held at CU and the 2-day audition will see the presence of “Pilipinas Got Talent” hosts Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano as well as PGT judges Kris Aquino and former ABS-CBN President Frederico Garcia.

Mindanaoan learned that the tickets to these two shows will be given out for free but I highly suggest that you get yours this early. Do call ABS CBN CDO to ask how you can avail of a ticket.
Mindanaoan will watch and take photos so do stay tuned
“Pilipinas Got Talent” held initial screenings at CDO late last year.
PGT will air over ABS CBN Channel 2 starting February.
So the Pinoy Big Brother 2009 PBB Double Up finally conducted its “magical reveal” of this year’s housemates last night. Mindanaoan was able to watch parts of the show, which was hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzales and Mariel Rodriguez.
Thankfully, there are two Mindanaoan housemates this year. One is Melisa Cantiveros from General Santos City and the other is Marielle Sorino, a fellow Dabawenyo. Both are 21 years old. Melisa is dubbed as “Inday Kengkay” and is an aspiring teacher (during her brief interview, she spoke in English…with very good intonation, I must say!) while Marielle is a single mother and admitted to having been “rebellious” before – i.e. she drank and frequently partied and as a consequence, encountered conflicts with her parents especially her mom.

The other Pinoy Big Brother Double Up housemates this year are Princess, 22, from Cebu/Fukuoka, Japan; Tom, 22, from Samar/Arizona; Yuri, 25, from Tokyo Japan; Jason, 21, from Oriental Mindoro; Delio, 26, from Batangas;
Paul Jake, 24, from Cebu; Toffi, 19, from Rizal; Carol, 22, from Tondo Manila; Yhel, 26, from Pampanga; Kenny (who happens to be Toffi’s twin brother), 19, from Rizal; JM, 29, from Quezon City and JP (who’s JM’s twin brother), 29, from Quezon City.
So why is this the 2009 Pinoy Big Brother reality show dubbed “Double Up”? Because apart from the fact that there are two sets of twins, there are also two versions of Kuya’s house. So naturally the challenge would be if the housemates would eventually figure out that there are two houses and if they notice the twins.
The winner of the new season would receive an LCD TV set, an Asian tour package, a business package, a house and lot, and one million pesos. Reportedly, the PBB 2009 winner would also donate a million pesos to a charity of their choice, making Double Up the first non-celebrity season to do so.
So who’s your bet?
The Kapamilya Karavan 2009 in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao was a major success! The fun event, which was made possible by ABS CBN and SM City CDO, was held last August 28, 2009 (the very day CDO celebrated the Kagay-An Festival 2009!) at the Gran Via Lot, Pueblo de Oro. Virtually thousands and thousands of people came to watch the free show, which was the organizers’ way of thanking the public for their continuous support.
Mindanaoan was there because I was tapped to book two local bands (thank you, ABS CBN Manila!) Mindanaoan was also one of the official event photographers
[the other one that I got was my brother Bon hehe...but of course, right?
] Check out some of the photos that I took during the Kapamilya Karavan event in Cagayan de Oro below.
Apart from the M.O.R. deejays and MAG TV Ato Ni hosts, Kapamilya celebrities also came — John Lloyd Cruz, Maricar Reyes and Nikki Valdes. Enchong Dee was also supposed to come but the poor guy caught dengue so only a live phone patch was arranged that night. Enchong greeted the thousands of people while confined at St. Luke’s Hospital. Hopefully, he’s doing better now.
Dennis Padilla served as a guest host that night and Manila band Rivermaya also came. Unfortunately, it rained so heavily just when the celebrities were about to appear on stage so the show was cut short. Moreover, Rivermaya fans also got disappointed because their favorite band ended up not performing at all. The drum set and other sound equipment were too wet and the tech guys didn’t want to take a risk, lest that the electrical stuff get grounded.
Still, the night was successful and I warmly congratulate the ABS CBN Cagayan de Oro, ABS CBN Manila and SM City CDO staff for a job well done.
Cheers and I look forward to working with you again very soon!

ABS-CBN Kapamilya star John Lloyd Cruz and popular band Rivermaya will headline the much-awaited Kapamilya Karavan – Cagayan de Oro on August 28, 2009 at Gran Via Lot, SM CDO, Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao. This fun musical event will be held on the very same day Cagayan de Oro City celebrates its fiesta.
Expect legions of fans to watch John Lloyd and other Kapamilya stars on August 28! Of course, the ABS CBN Cagayan de Oro family, M.O.R. CDO family and some representatives from ABS CBN Manila will be at the event. This early, not a few have already told me that they’ll be at the venue early so that they can situate themselves near the stage. Sabagay…who wouldn’t want to be up close and personal with Mr. Ingat himself?

Mindanaoan was tapped to book two local artists that will serve as front acts during the event. I hired the Alyss and the Novelista Pasta bands. Watch out as they add more vibrance to the show! I was also tapped to hire a professional photographer for the event so naturally, I booked my very talented brother Bon. If you want to see just how talented he is, check out his website where you can find samples of his work.
I will also take photos, but of course!
I wouldn’t want to miss this chance! So don’t forget to SUBSCRIBE TO MINDANAOAN so that you’ll be among the very first to see photos taken during the ABS CBN Kapamilya Karavan in CDO! See you there
I just knew that it would only take a matter of time before Joey de Leon, one of the hosts in the GMA 7 noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” gives his (violent) reaction on the controversial decision of Willie Revillame to have the live feed of President Cory Aquino’s cortege from La Salle Greenhills to Manila Cathedral removed. The cortege was aired simultaneously with Revillame’s noontime show “Wowowee” aired via ABS CBN Channel 2.
We all know that Joey and Willie aren’t exactly “good friends” so I guess this “parinig” that he made, along with co-host Vic Sotto, is but expected of Joey de Leon. Check out the video below.
Notable line — “ang baboy, kahit pagsuotin mo pa yan ng ginto, baboy pa rin”
OUCH.
