BREAKING NEWS! Filipina actress Angel Locsin was nominated for Best Actress in the International Emmy Awards! Locsin is nominated for her title role in the popular ABS CBN Channel 2 series “Lobo” (”The Wolf” in the International Emmys)

“Lobo” was Locsin’s first TV series under ABS CBN Channel 2, following her controversial departure from GMA 7.

Angel Locsin, along with Piolo Pascual, starred in a movie shot in Bukidnon, Mindanao and in Australia. Read more about the tales from the shooting of “Love Me Again” here.

Congratulations Angel!

I must admit, I’m kilig to the bones. Although I know by heart every single word Piolo Pascual said in this video greeting that he did (I should because I wrote the words LOL), I still cannot help but feel giddy. Piolo is Piolo! And he has always been very nice to me…so I have nothing but respect and admiration for the man. The last time I spoke to him was when I watched the ASAP show live at ABS-CBN Manila late last year. And I tell you, he really is one charmer! :D

Check out the video greeting he did for his “fellow Bukidnons” (he, along with “Love Me Again – Land Down Under” co-star Angel Locsin, is an adopted child of the Province of Bukidnon) in time for the Kaamulan 2009. Piolo’s looking dapper in that video, don’t you think?

Thank you very much to Miss Mariole and Miss Lulu for granting our request and for making this Piolo Pascual video greeting for Bukidnon possible! Madakel ha salamat! (Thank you very much) My heartfelt thanks also to Miss Joy and Miss Wheng for the assistance.

And of course, my biggest thanks to Piolo Pascual. You made a lot of people very happy with this gesture. Salamat tungkay! Madakel ha salamat! :)

The official schedule of the Province of Bukidnon’s Kaamulan Festival 2009 celebration is finally out! This Kaamulan 2009 celebration sked was furnished by the Bukidnon Tourism Office of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon.

The Kaamulan Festival is the largest festival in Bukidnon and is largely recognized as the only remaining authentic ethnic festival in the Philipines. Kaamulan is an indigenous Bukidnon term for “’gathering for any purpose.’” It can also mean a datuship ritual, a wedding ceremony, a thanksgiving festival during harvest time, a peace pact, or all of these together.

Bukidnon’s Kaamulan Festival, which began in the year 1977, is an ethnic festival featuring the province of Bukidnon’s seven (7) hill tribes namely Tala-andig, Higaonon, Umayamnon, Manobo, Tigwahanon, Matigsalug and Bukidnon.

The latest offering of Star Cinema, ABS-CBN Channel 2’s film production outfit, is set to open in theaters nationwide today, January 15, 2009. “Love Me Again (Land Down Under),” which stars Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual, will be shown in theaters nationwide starting today — unfortunately (and ironically, I guess?) it won’t be shown in the very province that they shot the movie in. “Love Me Again” won’t be shown in Bukidnon, Mindanao, Philippines for the mere reason that there aren’t ANY movie houses or theaters in the Province of Bukidnon. The latest Star Cinema movie was partly shot in the scenic province of Bukidnon.

The movie, which is reportedly part of Star Cinema’s 15th Year Anniversary celebration, was partly shot in Bukidnon particularly in the Municipality of Impasug-ong, in Barangay Dalwangan in Malaybalay City and in the Kaamulan Tree Park. The movie’s lead stars have also been declared adopted children of Impasug-ong town. Other tales from the movie shoot can be found HERE.
