All right, Mindanaoan has shown you the “formal” photos taken during a recent Ozamiz City, Mindanao wedding, yes? Now it’s time to show you the fresh, fun, funky side! After all, my professional wedding photographer-brother Bon is proud of producing “fresh, fun, funky photography!” (I coined this, by the way!
) I – Mindanaoan – was one of Bon’s 2nd photographers during that beautiful wedding in Mindanao.
First stop of our fresh, fun, funky wedding photography escapade in Ozamiz City was the groom and groomsmen’s preparations. While waiting for Quennie, the bride, and her entourage to get all dolled up, Garry, the groom, along with his groomsmen, was photographed right in the middle of the very busy street near Royal Garden Hotel, where the pre-nuptial preparations were made.

So here’s part two of my earlier blog post about my road trip to Ozamiz City, Mindanao. Please do read my earlier post to know how I traveled to Ozamiz City from Cagayan de Oro City, what I rode in order to reach the Ozamiz Port and what my initial impressions of the city named after Jose F. Ozamiz were.
I was in Ozamiz City a few days ago for a wedding photo coverage gig with my professional photographer-brother Bon and Onat. My role, by the way, was of a very excited 2nd photographer
That wedding photography gig was a welcome respite for me as I’ve been busy as of late with politicians, events, travels and political-related PR and of course, with the campaigns. Thankfully, that chance for me to travel and to take photos came and I immediately joined Bon.
My brother Bon’s clients were Garry and Quennie, a lovely couple. Both of them currently work in Dubai and were only back in the country for several weeks for bonding with family, a little R and R and of course, for the big wedding
Below are some of the shots taken during Garry and Quennie’s wedding in Ozamiz City. The rest of the photos may be viewed here.
And if you or anyone you know need a wedding photographer (we can travel all over Mindanao, all over the Philippines and even all over the world!), please don’t hesitate to CONTACT ME. We charge very reasonable rates and all rates are negotiable! You can also contact me by calling or sending a text message to any of these numbers: (+63) 919 238 6575 / (+63) 922 934 7198. You can also send me email by clicking this page or sending it directly to mindanaoan (at) gmail (dot) com.
To Garry and Quennie – may the good Lord bless your union and thank you for letting us be a part of your very special day!

When my professional wedding photographer-brother Bon told me that I was to serve as one of his 2nd photographers in a wedding to be held in Ozamiz City, I need not think twice. I haven’t been to Ozamis City yet and I’ve always wanted to visit the place. For one, I’ve always been curious of the place and of the many things I’ve heard about it. Secondly, any road trip around Mindanao is always a welcome thought for me. And thirdly, any chance for me to be a wedding photographer is always great news.
Together with fellow photographer Onat, the video coverage team members and Bon, we left Cagayan de Oro City for Ozamis City last January 7, 2010. From CDO, we traveled towards Iligan City (2 hours from CDO) and then onwards to Kolambugan, Lanao del Norte (about an hour after Iligan).
In Kolambugan, we boarded one of those Roll On, Roll Off (RORO) ferries at Mukas Sea Port. Mind you, the RORO ferry had a large airconditioned area with cushioned seats for passengers and even a few tables where passengers can eat or have coffee (like we did
) From Mukas Port to Ozamiz City, we only paid P20.00 per person and the trip was pretty fast. It only took us about 20 minutes!
Here’s a photo I took at Mukas Port using my cellular phone:
Following their wedding engagement shots taken at both Xavier Estates and Initao Park, Initao, Misamis Oriental, my brother Bon (who’s a professional wedding photographer and who proudly banners “Fresh Fun Funky Photography!”), Aye, Louie and I, Mindanaoan, then provided the wedding photography services for Sherwin and Ching.
A very nice and loving couple now based in Thailand, Sherwin and Ching were game for just about anything you want them to do for us wedding photographers to capture those very special wedding shots!
Take a look at some of the pre-nuptial shots here.
