Although there haven’t been any official statements yet from both SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (the corporation behind the SM supermalls around the country) and the Salazar Family of General Santos City (said to be the owners of an 8-hectare property along Santiago Boulevard, GenSan where SM reportedly intends to put up the SM General Santos Supermall), observers believe that it’s a done deal.
The fact that General Santos Mayor Pedro Acharon already confirmed the signing of a lease between the two concerned parties, then the project already has the green light.
SM reportedly intends to lease the Salazar-owned land for 50 years. And we all know that long-term leases mean financial security for the owners. Good for them, yes?
SM General Santos City is seen to be the imminent rival to Robinson’s Mall General Santos City, which I think is set to start operations this year.
I wonder if this latest development worries the owners of Gaisano Mall and KCC Mall GenSan?

Davao City is no longer the only Mindanao area where the famous Figaro Coffee has a store. Figaro Coffee has already set up shop at Limketkai Mall, Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao! Established in 1993, Figaro is a 100 percent Filipino-owned coffee company.
Figaro Cagayan de Oro is located right across the SMART Wireless Center and Globe Telecoms office area of the said CDO mall.
The Figaro coffee shop is also right below Skypark Grill and near the Rosario Arcade.
Check out the photos I took using my brother’s cellular phone camera:
And since my brother and I are huge coffee lovers, we decided to stop by and have our snacks at Figaro CDO. I had the ham and cheese sandwich and cafe latte while my brother had baked mini pizzas and cafe latte as well:
The ambience at Figaro Lim Ket Kai was nice and relaxing. They had soft, soothing music in the background and the staff members were fast and friendly. Pretty much the same thing you’d expect when you visit a Figaro coffee shop.
By the way, if you have business cards, don’t forget to drop one in a glass bowl near the counter.
Have you visited the new Figaro store in Cagayan de Oro? What are your thoughts about the place?
