Co-producing a Rivermaya band gig at Blue Room, Apo View Davao

Like most things that end up being hands-down epic, my being a co-producer of a recent Rivermaya band gig at Blue Room, Apo View Hotel Davao all started with two phone calls and a Facebook message. Yep. A phone call from the Rivermaya band manager, a phone call to a former classmate in Ateneo and a Facebook message to his cousin (who also happens to be a batchmate). That's all it took. A day and a half later, the Rivermaya Live At Blue Room, Apo View Hotel Davao City was a go. Things moved pretty quickly. My assistant and I were on the phone, calling a few friends who may want to sponsor the show. Fortunately, everyone we got in touch with all said yes. Who wouldn't? Here's a quick update to my previous post about the 10th anniversary celebration of Citihardware CDO. I was tapped as the event manager for Citi Hardware Cagayan de Oro 10th Anniversary celebration. That was my second project for Citihardware CDO. The first one was during the opening of its Citihardware Bulua branch. The Citihardware CDO 10th anniversary event was held at its newest and by far the second largest Citihardware outlet in the entire country - Citihardware Tablon (the largest one remains to be its Davao head office). The Philippines' King of Acoustic Paolo Santos has a very special video message for this humble blogger from Mindanao :) You see, I was a co-producer and co-event organizer of the "Moonlight Acoustic Serenade by the King of Acoustic Paolo Santos" Valentine's Day show last February 14, 2011. Fetching Shamrock and tips on a road trip with artists or celebrities

Anyhoo...it has been a crazy time the past few days but it's all worth it! Mindanaoan had fun fetching Shamrock, the almost 3-hour road trip was fun as well and the show itself was very successful! Kuwentos about the show will be posted on another entry, though. For now, I'd like to share some of my personal thoughts and tips for budding event organizers out there or budding personal assistants for celebrities or artists. These tips will come in handy when you need to fetch performers, celebrities or artists from the airport, pier, bus terminal etc. and then if you need to go on a road trip (if the venue of the concert, let's say, is about 3 hours away) Please feel free to share your thoughts, too! 1. Always check and re-check the booking contract. See if the artists or celebritie...
