Mindanao is my native land. This is where I belong, feel secure and am at peace. To be in Mindanao is to feel the embrace of a warm, soft blanket.

Mindanaoan - Blogging the REAL Mindanao!

So the opening of the newest and hippest bar in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao was a success! Congratulations to Dennis for the smooth handling of the event and to the owners of Tilt bar!

Thank you very much to all who came and partied with us during the opening of CLUB TILT! Thank you very much to my brother Bon and his friends, to fellow HUE Magazine movers Cong and Andrew and of course to my ever reliable CDO Blogger-friends!

All of the partyphiles who came that night grooved to the funky beats courtesy of the HYPE DJ’s and of DJ Manolet Santos from Manila!

TILT is located along Velez Street, Cagayan de Oro City. More about this funky place here.

Meanwhile, if you need an event organizer, event stylist, wedding or events photographer anywhere in Mindanao and around the Philippines, please don’t hesitate to contact (+63) 919 238 6575, asteriskec@gmail.com or visit ASTERISK Events and Communications.

Our Pambansang Kamao, world boxing champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, recently guested over at Jimmy Kimmel Live! Jimmy Kimmel Live! is a late night talk show aired over at ABC in the U.S. and hosted by…who else…funny man Jimmy Kimmel himself.

I was able to watch Manny Pacquiao’s interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! via a video sent to me by a friend in the U.S. If you want to check out the transcription I made, check out my Twitter account for my blow-by-blow account :) In my opinion, Filipino boxing champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao had a good time — in fact, he never stopped smiling and laughing all throughout the interview!

Pacman also shared fun statements during the interview. He said things like he has a dog named Pacman, his superhero character “Wapakman” has a lot of superpowers, that he has more than 30 people in his entourage (hoowow! IKR?) and that each of his “employees” have their own assignments (one is designated to cook, another one is designated to wash his clothes etc). Fellow Mindanaoan Manny Pacquiao also said that he has 8 people living with him in his apartment in Los Angeles, California.

Pacman also sang a song during his Jimmy Kimmel Live guesting, by the way. Thanks to fellow Twitter user heidologies, here’s a video clip of Manny Pacman Pacquiao singing his heart out on American TV:

Can’t help but wonder if Manny’s wife Jinkee Pacquiao and their children were able to watch the guesting live or at least via satellite.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated boxing match between Filipino pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Puerto Riccan welterweight titleholder Miguel Cotto will push through on November 14, 2009 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Wow, Mindanaoan has been bombarded with so many requests for more pictures of John Lloyd Cruz during the Kapamilya Karavan 2009 in Cagayan de Oro City. This Mindanao blogger has sooo many photos of the Filipino actor (and apparently with the number of requests…a certified heartthrob, too!) and I really need time to sift through all of them but just to appease his legion of fans…here’s a video I took during the event.

Pardon the quality of the video as I only used my LG Arena phone to record John Lloyd Cruz as he sang “Ngiti.” Cheers to all of you Mindanaoan fans of this ABS CBN Channel 2 star…thank you for visiting my humble blog and please don’t hesitate to spread the word to your fellow “Lloydie fans.” More to come — only here in Mindanaoan.com!

MINDANAO – I’m currently in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao and just got back from a pretty fruitful meeting with some of the members of the CDO Bloggers group.

Mindanaoan joined their regular officers’ meeting and pitched in some of my thoughts for the upcoming Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, which will be held in Cagayan de Oro City come October 24, 2009. The meeting was held at one of the coffee shops here in the City of Golden Friendship.

I found the CDO Bloggers to be very friendly and warm. They also welcomed new ideas and suggestions. To all of you whom I met earlier – thank you for welcoming me into the fold ;) I look forward to working with you guys very soon!

If you wish to know more about the upcoming 3rd Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2009, please pre-register here.

By the way, Mindanaoan will be in town until the weekend. Hence, that means that I’ll watch the Philippine premier of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince here! :D I will also attend the Digital Filipino CDO Networking Event on the 17th. So if you’re attending that…well…see you then ;)
