Mindanaoan at Dahilayan Adventure Park ZipZone Bukidnon zipline – longest dual cable zipline in Asia
So, YES, finally! Mindanaoan, her brother and mom finally got to visit Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon – home of ZipZone Bukidnon zipline, reportedly the longest dual cable zipline in all of Asia! We finally managed to visit this Mindanao tourist destination, which is fast becoming a favorite of thrill and adventure seekers, in time for my brother’s birthday.
Actually, we’ve been looking forward to trying out this Bukidnon zipline adventure for months but we only had the chance this most recent weekend. Also, quite unfortunately, my two other brothers couldn’t come with us so it was just me, my brother and my mom. Nonetheless, my brother and I were so excited to try the much-talked about 840 meter zipline, considered the longest dual cable zipline in Asia.
Apart from the 840 meter zipline, Dahilayan Adventure Park also had a 320 meter zipline and a 150 meter zipline. Here’s the view from the launch point of the 320 meter zipline:

This wasn’t our first Mindanao zipline adventure, though. My brothers and I already conquered the Xcelerator, the longest speed zipline in Asia.
During Mindanaoan’s weeklong Cebu trip, I was fortunate to have had the chance to stay overnight at a Cebu resort that’s widely said to be Cebu Provincial Governor Gwen Garcia’s favorite. Lubi Resort is located at Santander, Cebu Province, a 5th class municipality included in the second district of Cebu.
And it’s not difficult to understand why Gov. Gwen loves Lubi Resort. It’s a homey, quaint refuge at the southernmost part of Cebu.
To reach the resort is a bit difficult to do so unless you have a private vehicle. Actually, I think the resort’s “exclusivity” is one of its main strengths. For people who just want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just want to enjoy their “me” time, then Lubi Resort in Santander, Cebu is the answer.
Lubi Resort, as its name suggests, is a beachfront property located amid lots of palm and coconut trees. White sand. Ideally located near great dive spots such as Apo Island, Balicasag, Pescador Island, Sumilon and Siquijor.
The resort, I noticed, only had 6 rooms. But boy…were the rooms huge and absolutely beautiful! Check out the photos I took below. As for the rates…an overnight stay would cost you roughly US $100.00 or nearly P5,000.00 per night.
I learned that the resort is owned by a Japanese. That bit of information was further proven when my supposedly Filipino breakfast composed of scrambled eggs, corned beef, rice and coffee had a good serving of salad on the side. Someone told me that Japanese people liked having salads for breakfast.
Here are some of the photos I took inside my beautiful, spacious room:
Mindanao is definitely on a roll these days! It’s fast becoming the host of so many tourist attractions and exhilarating, unique and uber fun extreme sports and adventures! First there was the Xcelerator, dubbed Asia’s longest speed zipline, then there was the Davao City Deca Wakeboard Park, which opened last August 28, 2009, and now, Mindanao will be the location of what’s to be the longest dual cable zipline in Asia!
ZIPZONE Extreme Zip Line Adventure Philippines will soon be open for business. Located at the verdant Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon (an hour’s drive away from nearby Cagayan de Oro City, Northern Mindanao), Asia’s longest Dual Cable Zipline is currently on a test run.
Fast facts about this zipline adventure in Northern Mindanao:
- Dual Carrying cables each 840 meters long point to point
- Safety cable also 840 meters long
- Total length of cables: 2,460 meters
- Elevation drop: 100meters
- Estimated speed: 60-100KPH
- Launch point Location at 4000 ft ASL
Sounds like major fun!!!
I found this video about the Zipzone test run in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon:
Zipzone is owned by Elpidio Paras, the same Mindanaoan who owns Paras Beach Resort, PARASAT Cable TV and a host of other businesses.
I’m really very excited to try this out very soon! I’ve already conquered the Xcelerator. Next up: Zipzone!
GO MINDANAO!
Took this picture of the huge Christmas tree found in what’s considered as the third largest shopping mall in the world, SM Mall of Asia (MOA). It’s a pretty Christmas tree – it had lots of trimmings such as Christmas balls and stars, large gifts at its foot and loads of Christmas lights. The tree is located right in front of the French Baker branch and right beside the mini castle at the Entertainment Hall section of the Main Mall.
I’m not too sure if this Christmas tree is larger than the one in Cubao, though.
What do you think of MOA’s Christmas tree?
By the way, I found it rather interesting to see a lot of families milling around and about MOA that day. You see, we went there on a Tuesday morning, which is supposed to be work day, yes? Makes you hope that the parents went there because it was their day off and that they didn’t go there because they didn’t have jobs or something. That would be pretty sad for Christmas.
Anyhoo, the Christmas tree in Mall of Asia truly served as an exciting signal that the festive holiday season is definitely underway here in the Philippines.
