Nearly 300 bloggers from all over Mindanao, new media advocates and experts, Mindanaoan leaders and other stakeholders will converge in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao on October 24, 2009 for the much-awaited 2009 Mindanao Bloggers Summit, which aims to uphold the beauty and strength of the island and to expunge the negative notions the world has about it.
(Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines – October 20, 2009) – Nearly 300 bloggers from all over Mindanao will converge in Cagayan de Oro City on October 24, 2009 for the much-awaited Mindanao Bloggers Summit 3, an annual gathering of the island’s bloggers or new media practitioners.
MBS 3, which will be a whole-day affair on October 24, 2009 at Pearlmont Inn, Limketkai Drive, CDO, will banner the theme “Mindanao: Bag-Uhon Ang Panan-aw.”

“Mindanao has its share of problems, we will not deny that. However, which area in the world doesn’t? Mindanao has so many strengths as well and we want to showcase these. From the undeniably amazing tourist spots to colourful and interesting cultures and tribes to diverse flora and fauna to the truly warm and friendly people, Mindanao is the home of everything fascinating or in bloggers’ lingo – bloggable,” shares Jovelyn “Chiq” Montes, president of CDO Bloggers.
The 2nd Mindanao-wide I.T Convention dubbed “Quantum and I.T. Convention” will be held on January 23-25, 2009 at Marco Hotel, Alwana Business Park, Cagayan de Oro City.
With the theme, “Enriching Mindanao I.T. enthusiasts for global competence,” the confab aims to promote information technology in Mindanao as well as smart technology, current and emerging web technologies, 3D technology and e-commerce. The event is organized by XCEL, Quantum and Information Technology Convention (QITC) and AIMS.
QITC is an innovation of 2 groundbreaking activities of two renowned organizations in Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan) united to accomplish a common goal.
