Good luck, Mindanaoan!
Forgive the hint of doubt but let’s face it – we’re in the midst of global economic turbulence and we know just how many have lost their jobs. While it’s true President Gloria Arroyo announced that the government is doing its best to offer “temporary jobs” to workers who recently got laid off (not sure if this so-called program has even started yet or is merely press release), her office did also say that they’re offering loan packages to former OFWs from Taiwan and other countries – but we hear of a ton of complaints from these former OFWs. They claim that after going to and fro government agencies and submitting all pertinent documents, a lot of them have yet to receive a single cent. Hence, until I see solid proof that the government did hire thousands of workers albeit on a temporary basis and if it did provide each of these thousands of OFWs the so-called P50,000 loan package, I’ll remain a doubting Thomas.
Still, I’m hoping that this job vacancy announcement from the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) is legit. Legit in the sense that deserving applicants will really get hired (and not relatives or friends of the “bigwigs”) and that PEOPLE WILL REALLY GET HIRED. Hopefully this PIA vacancy announcement is not mere press release. Here’s hoping that there really IS a budget for these job openings.
If you think you have what it takes to be an asset to the government, you might want to be a part of the Philippine Information Agency team. The regional offices of the PIA in Butuan City, Cagayan de Oro City, Davao City, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur and Koronadal City, South Cotabato are in need of various information officers and workers. Check THIS out.
Good luck, Mindanaoan!
