It’s official, folks! π
I have been chosen by the U.S. Department of State to visit the United States of America as a participant in the International Visitor Leadership Program or IVLP. I will leave for the U.S. on March 3, 2012 and will stay there until the first week of April 2012 π
Actually, the program that I will be a part of will only run for 3 weeks but I plan to stay a bit more to savor the sights and sounds of the USA. During the 3-week program, I will visit Washington, Orlando Florida, Salt Lake City Utah and Portland Oregon. I plan to visit New York and Virginia as well π
Do any of you guys out there live in these areas? I would love to meet you! π Let me know through the comments section below.
And oh, did I mention that I’m the ONLY Filipino and the only female in this IVL program? π Yep, I’m pretty darn proud! π
I cannot wait to see this:
Launched in 1940, the IVLP is the U.S. Department of Stateβs premier professional exchange program that seeks to build mutual understanding between the U.S. and other nations through carefully designed short-term visits to the U.S. for current and emerging foreign leaders.
To date, the program β run by Embassy’s Public Affairs Section (PAS) β has sent more than 800 Filipino leaders from many fields to the US to participate in observation tours, discussions, consultation, professional meetings, conferences, workshops and travel.
Thank you very much to the US Department of State, the US Embassy Manila and the US Embassy Manila Public Affairs Section for this amazing opportunity! Can’t wait to share with you all my escapades in America π
