Islands Souvenirs is set to open two stores in Cagayan de Oro in the next few weeks. Best known as the Philippines’ top brand for souvenir items, Islands Souvenirs is actually making a comeback of sorts in CDO. They first opened a branch in the 90’s.
Now on this comeback of sorts, the first Islands Souvenirs CDO store to open, according to their President, Jay Aldeguer (who, by the way, is one of my idols in business, advocacy and corporate social responsibility!), will be the Lim Ket Kai branch located at the 1st level, East Wing (the entrance closest to Starbucks Lim Ket Kai, Shopwise CDO and Missy BonBon).
The Limketkai Mall Islands Souvenirs branch will have a soft opening on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014. The second store will be opened on May 2014.

Islands Souvenirs is also responsible for the revolutionary “I Heart” campaign. If you’ve seen one of those t-shirts where a person’s name is printed on a shirt and then paired with a red heart plus a specific Philippine city (or another person’s name or hobby), then that’s a trademark Islands Souvenirs tee!
Islands Souvenirs has also received a lot of awards including the Hall of Fame title for having won the World Class Retailer of the Year, three times (no less!), as conferred by the Philippine Retailers Association and the Department of Trade and Industry.
Islands Souvenirs also has a few other sister companies including Islands Stay Hotel and Islands Banca Cruises. Mindanaoan had the privilege to try these properties and services. Check out my Cebu island hopping adventure with Islands Banca Cruises and my super comfortable stay at Islands Stay Hotel Mactan.
