In order to raise awareness about climate change and the various measures that we all should take in order to address such problem, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has been organizing yearly Earth Hour events around the world. This year, Earth Hour 2013 will be a little more participatory and based on citizen initiative as WWF wants to encourage communities to start their own campaigns against climate change. Earth Hour 2013 is no longer just about asking people around the world to turn off non-essential lights for an hour. It's now about urging people to come up with more long-term solutions in order to combat climate change and further protect Mother Earth. Tokyo Tokyo CDO is finally open! The very first Cagayan de Oro City branch of Tokyo Tokyo opened last November 29, 2012 at the 2nd Floor of Limketkai Mall but I was pretty lucky. The night before the grand launch, Mindanaoan was among the very first to try their signature dishes - I was invited to a special gathering of friends from Tokyo Tokyo and the local media community. Typhoon Sendong Memorial Wall Unveiled

A year after Typhoon Sendong (international name: Washi) hit Northern Mindanao (particularly the cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro), more than 1,000 people died and more than 500 persons remain missing. In an effort to provide the bereaved families with a place where they can honor their loved ones who untimely passed away, a group composed of female community movers conceptualized the Sendong Memorial Wall project. JCI Bai Lawanen, Mindanao's first all-lady chapter of the Junior Chamber International - Philippines, started the Sendong Memorial Wall community project, which aims to serve as a sanctuary for the grieving families. There's a new coffee shop in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf has opened their first CDO branch at Centrio Mall. The Centrio Ayala Mall branch of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf CDO is on the right side of Centrio Garden, if you're taking the Capt. V. Roa entrance to the mall. Guess who made quite a stir during the opening of Centrio Mall? No other than Brazilian model Daniel Matsunaga and host/model Rovilson Fernandez! The two gorgeous hunks caused so much stir that the boys later told this Mindanao lifestyle blogger that they had to do an "Amazing Race" kind of dodge and run just to make it through the sea of screaming fans. Taters Centrio Ayala Mall opening promo

It's rare that I don't bring a Taters product whenever I watch a movie at an Ayala mall. To watch a film without delicious munchies from Taters is just not the same. That's why I'm really glad that Taters is now in Cagayan de Oro City! Taters CDO is set to open on November 9, 2012 at Centrio Mall. Centrio, as you may all know by now, is the Ayala Mall in CDO. Taters Centrio is located at the 3rd floor of the Ayala Centrio Mall.
