I'd like to share with all of you the photos I took of talented comedienne Marietta Subong a.k.a. Pokwang during the "The Crooner and The Comedienne" concert last December 19, 2010, Limketkai Atrium, CDO. These are all raw photos, by the way. Apart from the watermarks, the photos have not been manipulated in any way. Please feel free to share this page and please leave a comment :) Thank you. Also, as previously promised with you all, I'll share more videos of Richard Poon, Pokwang and Markki Stroem. I still have an exclusive video interview with Markki Stroem! Can't wait to share that with all of you! The former Pilipinas Got Talent finalist was a gentleman --- he was very eloquent, spontaneous, funny and smart. No wonder there are a lot of Markki fans out there! In the meantime, en...

Bukidnon, Malaybalay City, Mindanao, Mindanaoan Update, Photos, Tourism, Travel
Let's take a break from all my Cebu and Philippine Blog Awards-related posts :) I'm sharing photos I recently took of a Bukidnon tourist spot - the Alalum Falls found at Kisolon, Sumilao, Bukidnon. This Bukidnon waterfalls is probably the most accessible in the entire province of Bukidnon since it's located along Sayre Highway and just a few meters away from the Municipal Hall of Sumilao, Bukidnon. Alalum Falls is approximately 148 feet. Check out one more shot after the jump! (more…)

Senator Teofisto ‘TG" Guingona III, a fellow Mindanaoan, has taken his crusade for a transparent, accountable and participatory budget process a step further. The solon led the signing of the Open Budget Partnership Agreement during a forum on the 2011 National Expenditure Program attended by members and leaders of civil society organizations in Ortigas, Pasig City today. “Today, we are witness to a historic event, when the government and the civil society join hands in safeguarding one of the most important processes in good governance – that is, making sure that the budget process will be truly crafted in the true essence of democracy, one that will benefit the people whose taxes make this country run,” stated Guingona. Of skydiving, bungee and my Bacolod City to Cebu City aerial shots

Bacolod City, Cebu City, Mindanaoan Update, Musings, Photos
I'll let you in on a secret. One of the things included in my bucket list is to take photos while I glide through the air after I jump out of an airplane! Is that weird or too much of a dream? I've always wanted to try skydiving (but I have yet to find a reliable company that provides this type of extreme adventure in the Philippines --- if you know of one, please let me know!) and hopefully someday soon I'll try the bungee jump at AJ Hackett Macau Tower (I did manage to visit the tower all right but only to try their 360 degrees revolving restaurant LOL). In the meantime, I have to be contented with just taking aerial shots while well within the confines of an airplane. Anyhoo, here are some aerial shots I took during my recent Bacolod to Cebu City flight. All photos taken with a Pa...

Mindanaoan does pre-nup, pre-wedding photography in Manila

Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanaoan Update, Photos, Weddings
Barely two days before the May 2010 elections, Mindanaoan met up with my brother Bon for a pre-nuptial photo shoot in Manila. The game plan was supposed to be simple - two days for the pre- wedding photoshoot and another two days for another wedding photography gig in Tagaytay. Alas, I had to fly back to Mindanao to exercise my right to suffrage (just a fancy way of saying that I needed to vote :D) plus I also had to monitor the standings of my political client-candidates (as you may or may not know, Mindanaoan is a political publicist. Check here for my other activities) And so, I was only able to serve as second photographer for my brother for a day. Still, I had major fun shooting and assisting my brother, who's a professional wedding photographer in Cagayan de Oro. The theme of t...

Fresh, fun, funky in Ozamiz City! Mindanaoan and the fun Ozamiz wedding photo gig

Arts, Beauty, Humor, Mindanaoan Update, Ozamis, Personal, Photos, Society
All right, Mindanaoan has shown you the "formal" photos taken during a recent Ozamiz City, Mindanao wedding, yes? Now it's time to show you the fresh, fun, funky side! After all, my professional wedding photographer brother Bon is proud of producing "fresh, fun, funky photography!" (I coined this, by the way! :D) I - Mindanaoan - was one of Bon's 2nd photographers during that beautiful wedding in Mindanao. First stop of our fresh, fun, funky wedding photography escapade in Ozamiz City was the groom and groomsmen's preparations. While waiting for Quennie, the bride, and her entourage to get all dolled up, Garry, the groom, along with his groomsmen, was photographed right in the middle of the very busy street near Royal Garden Hotel, where the pre-nuptial preparations were made. Check ...

Wedding photo coverage gig in Ozamiz City Mindanao

Arts, Beauty, Features, Mindanaoan Update, Ozamis, Personal, Photos, Weddings
So here's part two of my earlier blog post about my road trip to Ozamiz City, Mindanao. Please do read my earlier post to know how I traveled to Ozamiz City from Cagayan de Oro City, what I rode in order to reach the Ozamiz Port and what my initial impressions of the city named after Jose F. Ozamiz were. I was in Ozamiz City a few days ago for a wedding photo coverage gig with my professional photographer-brother Bon and Onat. My role, by the way, was of a very excited 2nd photographer :) That wedding photography gig was a welcome respite for me as I've been busy as of late with politicians, events, travels and political-related PR and of course, with the campaigns. Thankfully, that chance for me to travel and to take photos came and I immediately joined Bon. My brother Bon's clie...

A very nice and loving couple now based in Thailand, Sherwin and Ching were game for just about anything you want them to do for us wedding photographers to capture those very special wedding shots! Take a look at some of the pre-nuptial shots here. Check out some of the wedding photos below: Wedding photography is really special and fun. It feels great to be a part of a wonderful celebration of love, unity and commitment. To be a wedding photograp...

The Kapamilya Karavan 2009 in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao was a major success! The fun event, which was made possible by ABS CBN and SM City CDO, was held last August 28, 2009 (the very day CDO celebrated the Kagay-An Festival 2009!) at the Gran Via Lot, Pueblo de Oro. Virtually thousands and thousands of people came to watch the free show, which was the organizers' way of thanking the public for their continuous support. Mindanaoan was there because I was tapped to book two local bands (thank you, ABS CBN Manila!) Mindanaoan was also one of the official event photographers :) [the other one that I got was my brother hehe...but of course, right? :) ] Check out some of the photos that I took during the Kapamilya Karavan event in Cagayan de Oro below. Apart from the M.O.R. deejays an...

Cagayan de Oro City Mindanao aerial shots

Blogging, Cagayan de Oro City, Features, Flights, Mindanaoan Update, Northern Mindanao, Personal, Photos, Tourism, Travel
During my PAL Express flight from the Cebu International Airport, Mactan to Cagayan de Oro Domestic Airport, I took some aerial shots. I got a window seat at that time (I was also supposed to have a window seat during my PAL Express CDO to Cebu flight but my seatmate, an elderly woman who confessed that it's been so long since she last traveled by plane, looked pale and scared so I no longer insisted) so it was easy for me to take aerial shots of Cagayan de Oro City as our plane descended and prepared for landing. Mindanaoan wishes to share these Cagayan de Oro City aerial shots:

Here are the photos Mindanaoan (me!) took during the recent Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao leg of the Register and Vote (RV) Campaign - specifically during the two students fora held at the Mindanao University of Science and Technology and Cagayan de Oro College - both Cagayan de Oro City schools. Mindanaoan was privileged enough to have accompanied the Team Kiko group last July 30, 2009. This RV campaign, which is spearheaded by Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan, aims to draw out 5 to 9 million first time voters, encourage them to register at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and then come May 2010, exercise their right to suffrage. Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, AKBAYAN Partylist Rep. Risa Hontiveros, former Bukidnon Rep. Neric Acosta, BAYAN Partylist Rep. Teddy Casino and author Atty. ...

Mindanaoan won a new pair of Fitflops! Thank you Fitflop Philippines!

Announcements, Beauty, Blogging, Contests, Fashion, Features, Freebies, Gifts, Internet, Mindanaoan Update, Personal, Photos, Style, Technology, Weddings
One of Mindanaoan's good investments last year was to buy a pair of Fitflops. Widely known as one of broadcasting mogul Oprah Winfrey's "favorite things," FitFlop makes it possible for the wearer to "get a workout while you walk." Fitflop is that fun flip flop with a gym built in! My flair for unusual things that offer more value and my curiosity as to why Oprah endorsed this brand compelled me to finally buy a pair (despite the pretty hefty price tag) last year...and I must say, it was money well-spent! I bought a pair of bronze Electra Fitflops and I just love using them. Admittedly, my feet and legs got sore the first few times I wore my pair of Fitflops but I took it as a positive sign --- at least the product worked! I could feel the tension along my calves, knees, shins, soles and...
