Tokyo Tokyo: Now Serving CDO

Tokyo Tokyo CDO is finally open! The very first Cagayan de Oro City branch of Tokyo Tokyo opened last November 29, 2012 at the 2nd Floor of Limketkai Mall but I was pretty lucky. The night before the grand launch, Mindanaoan was among the very first to try their signature dishes – I was invited to a special gathering of friends from Tokyo Tokyo and the local media community.

By the way, a few days before its grand launch, Mindanaoan shared the news about Tokyo Tokyo Cagayan de Oro via this blog post. I was pretty stoked especially since I frequently visited Tokyo Tokyo back when I was still working in Manila. My “usuals” over at Tokyo Tokyo are the shrimp tempura, maki, pork tonkatsu and miso soup. Of course, the popular and truly delicious Tokyo Tokyo red iced tea is never far behind.

Tokyo Tokyo CDO is the popular Japanese food chain’s second branch in Mindanao (the first one is in Davao City). Tokyo Tokyo Cagayan de Oro is the 53rd branch in the Philippines.

Check out the prices. Very affordable, yes?

That night, we were also treated to a maki making demo. Two of my blogger-friends even got the chance to try their hand at making the very popular Tokyo Tokyo California Maki. The maki making demo showed just how much technique and mastery go into making Tokyo Tokyo’s delicious and very affordable Japanese dishes.

The bestselling California maki

After the maki making demo, a mini raffle was held. I was one of the lucky 4 who got to take various Japanese goodies home! Thank you Tokyo Tokyo Philippines 🙂

And then, dinner was served. All of the guests were generously treated with Tokyo Tokyo’s beef misono, prawn tempura, pork tonkatsu, red iced tea, california maki, pearl milk teas and jelly desserts!

Needless to say, I was a happy camper that day 🙂

Delicious Tokyo Tokyo classic pearl milk tea. This one’s very affordable, believe me!

By the way, if you order the Bento or Sumo meals, you can avail of unlimited rice or what they call in Tokyo Tokyo as “Eat-All-You-Kanin” 🙂

Thanks Tokyo Tokyo! That was a delectable treat 🙂
